However, if you’ve got a fresh batch of The Best Brownies in your kitchen it’s as difficult to give them away as it is to stop eating them!

This recipe provides some brilliantly tasting Brownies in a batch of 8 portions in total. So not going overboard on the servings, but still providing a good quantity of delicious Brownies that you can enjoy. The trick to getting perfect Brownies Every Time
We’ve been a little bold here claiming to have the Best Brownie Recipe ever, but we stand by that claim! After eating thousands of these wonderful Brownies over the years this recipe is 100% perfected. There are a couple of little secrets to making the best brownies. Stick with these techniques and you’ll be diving into this amazing dessert in no time at all!
Bake on a low temperature until they are ‘just’ cooked
Everyone knows that the best brownies have a lovely crunchy outside with a gooey, rich inside. The key to getting this consistency is to bake on a relatively low temperature of 350F for 30 – 35 minutes. Every oven is a little different so the times may vary slightly for your oven. So, we’d recommend checking them at around the 25-minute mark to see how they’re going
Once the edges of the Brownie start to crust up and you know that your Brownies are nearly done. This is why cooking at a lower temperature is key. A higher temperature will see the crust beginning to form well before the Brownies are ready. You can check the doneness of your Brownies by poking them with a skewer
Unlike a cake, a cooked Brownie will leave a little bit of mixture on the skewer when you remove it. So, to check if they’re done – you want the consistency of the mixture on the skewer to be sticky, and not in a liquid form. If it’s quite runny, then put it back in the oven for a few more minutes until they’re done
There is simply no substitute for Dark Chocolate for the Best Brownie Recipe
To get that delicious richness that we all love in a Brownie, you simply cannot look past good quality Dark Chocolate. There really is no substitute. Please do not try and use Milk Chocolate, as the result will not be the same. Milk Chocolate has a lot more sugar in it, so the end result will be an overly sweet and unappealing flavor. Good quality Dark Chocolate is the way to go
Now, what Cocoa percentage to use is always up to a debate and we can tell you that ultimately it is a bit of a personal preference. We like using Dark Chocolate with around the 70% Cocoa percentage. We find this level gives the best overall chocolate taste, without being overly bitter. Our recommendation is to try a few different percentage chocolates and chose the one you prefer the most
Think of the Chocolate like how you would use wine in cooking. If you like drinking the wine, it’ll taste great in the meal. If you like the taste of the Chocolate, it’s going to make for amazing Brownies!
This Brownie Recipe is great for anyone with an egg allergy
Another benefit from our Brownie recipe is how sparingly Eggs are used. Only 1 Egg in fact. For a dish that creates at least 8 individual brownies, you’ve got a lot of Brownie for a very minimal amount of Egg. So, if you have an egg allergy, it should be ok to use. The Egg is purely used as a binding agent to keep the Brownies together as they cook
Of course, if you’re completely allergic to any eggs at all we’d recommend substituting the Eggs for mashed Bananas. They make a great alternative to Eggs for use as a binding agent in baking. If you’re allergic to bananas too, then you can use Xanthan gum
An important ingredient in Brownies is Salt. That’s right!
It may seem a little strange given we’re making desserts here. However, salt is a critical ingredient in so many desserts, including this wonderful Brownie recipe. Salt serves the same purpose in baking sweet dishes as it does in savory cooking – to amplify as much flavor as possible out of the ingredients being cooked
We love finishing off these delicious Brownies with a generous sprinkle of good quality Flaky Sea Salt. It gives the Brownies a nice subtle contrast to the richness and adds a lovely crunchy texture. If you’ve ever had salted chocolate before, you know how amazing that flavor is. So, trust us on this one, try your Brownies with a little bit of Salt. It’s a key ingredient to achieving the Best Brownies Ever!
What Brownie is complete without a scoop of good quality Vanilla Ice Cream?
It goes without saying that these Brownies pair magically with good quality Vanilla Ice Cream. We hope that all of you have some in your freezer. To us, it’s as critical in the kitchen as Salt and a glass of Red Wine!
We’ll leave it up to you as to what Ice Cream you choose, but our recommendation is the get the Vanilla Ice Cream that has speckles of Vanilla Bean throughout it. The flavor of that ice cream is phenomenal and pairs wonderfully with these Brownies. The contrast of textures is what makes the pairing of Brownies and Ice Cream so special. The Gooiness of the Brownies pairs so well with creamy Ice Cream, and the flavor combination is amazing!
Finally, for some added freshness, luxury, and style points, why not add a couple of juicy fresh strawberries to the plate. The freshness and slight acidity of the Strawberries is a lovely way to cut through the richness of the dessert
