Greek Lamb Wrap with Tzatziki and Fries
This delicious Greek Lamb Wrap with Tzatziki and Fries recipe is one of our mid-week go to dinners. Itβs super healthy for you and tastes amazing. The meal takes a little while to cook, solely because youβll need to roast the lovely Lamb Shoulder for 1 β 2 hours depending on how large it is. So while it may take a little bit more time for a mid-week dinner, itβs so simple to do. Youβre literally just throwing the Lamb in the oven then mixing a bunch of ingredients together to make the filling. Its so easy, so healthy, and most importantly: so yummy!
The Side Dishes are just as important as the Lamb in making a great Greek Lamb Wrap
Weβve kept the sides quite traditional for this recipe, so keep the meal as authentic and flavorful as possible. It wouldnβt be a Greek Lamb Wrap without Tzatziki Sauce of course. Weβve got a great recipe here on how to make this yummy sauce. Weβve also got some details in the recipe below, so youβre covered either way
A fresh salad of Mint and Tomatoes adds some much-needed acidity, freshness, and flavor to the dish. Add some Romaine Lettuce too and youβve got a hearty bunch of fresh and healthy fruit and vegetables to keep this meal lovely and light
Finally, and most importantly of all are the French Fries! Thatβs right, the true authentic way to eat a Greek Lamb Wrap or Greek Souvlaki is with crispy French Fries. Honestly though, take the hassle out of the equation and just use the store-bought frozen fries. Theyβre more than suitable, and taste great in the Wrap. You can cook these up in your Oven or Air Fryer if youβve got one. Simple!

Adjust the roasting times for the Lamb depending on how large it is
For this recipe weβve used a 3 lb. Lamb Shoulder. Roasting it at 320 F / 160 C for 1 hour, 30 minutes was all we needed for a beautiful medium rare, 140-degree internal temperature. If youβve got a smaller weigh of Lamb, cook for a little less time. Larger cut, cook for longer
The best advice always when it comes to roasting meat, or cooking any meat honestly, is to get yourself a good quality meat thermometer. These are life savers in the kitchen. Every oven is different, and every cut of meat is different. So, to assume that all recipes are going to be cooked at the exact same time and temperature is somewhat ludicrous!
An Oven Safe Meat Thermometer takes the guess work out of Roasting
There are some great meat thermometers that are Oven safe. You simply place the pointy end of the thermometer into the center of the meat, and a line will run out into a digitized screen. The screen obviously sits outside of the oven! This is perfect, because you can set your desired temperature and just leave the Oven to do its thing. Once youβre at temperature, the thermometer will beep so you know itβs time to take it out to rest!
Weβve found for cooking this beautiful Greek Lamb Wrap meal that the Lamb will always be perfectly cooked if you invest in a thermometer. You can buy them everywhere, and they are very affordable. Highly recommended!

Making an amazing Greek Tzatziki Sauce is so easy!
Tzatziki Sauce is a vibrant Greek Sauce whose primary ingredient is fresh Greek Yoghurt. Added to that Yoghurt are the delicious combination of Lemon Juice, Lemon Zest, and Garlic. Itβs a bright sauce that has a sharp, acidic flavor which punches through the Greek Lamb Wrap perfectly
Itβs a fantastic sauce to compliment the natural fattiness of the Lamb Shoulder. Along with the fresh salads you add into the wraps, a great Greek Tzatziki Sauce brightens up this dish so much
What we love about making this Sauce is itβs one of the simplest to make. Thereβs no cooking involved! Just add the ingredients in a bowl and mix well to combine. Finish with a bit of Salt for seasoning (and added Cucumber if you like) and youβre good to go! Weβve got a detailed recipe for Tzatziki here, feel free to check it out!
We love adding a little bit of Chili Sauce to the Greek Lamb Wrap too. Totally option, but if you love a bit of spice then itβs a great addition and compliments the Tzatziki very well
A fresh Tomato and Mint Salad is the perfect addition to the delicious Greek Lamb Wrap Dinner
To me, nothing completes a delicious Greek Feast without Tomatoes and Mint. This fresh Tomato and Mint salad is perfect to fill your tasty Greek Lamb Wrap. Fresh, light, and full of flavor. Itβs the kind of salad that will instantly transport you to the Mediterranean Sea with its unbelievable flavor
We love how acidic and tangy this salad is, care of an abundance of Lemon Juice. When you add some Salt and Lemon Juice to Tomatoes you simply get the best flavor from this wonderful fruit. Combined with a handful of our delicious Pickled Onions to give it a lovely crunchy texture. You can just eat this salad by itself, and itβll be a wonderful, refreshing meal

Greek Lamb Wrap with Tzatziki and Fries Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 lb. Lamb Shoulder
- 1 cup of Pickled Onions
- 1 cup Romaine Lettuce, roughly chopped
- 2 large Tomatoes, roughly chopped
- 1 cup Greek Yoghurt
- Juice of 2 Lemon
- Zest of 1 Lemon
- 2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
- 1 handful of Mint, roughly chopped
- 1 cup of French Fries
- Salt and Pepper
- Optional: Hot Sauce
- Optional: Β½ Cucumber, diced
Note: The Cucumber is an optional addition to add into the Tzatziki Sauce or the Tomato Salad
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 320 F / 160 C. Place the Lamb Shoulder into a large baking pan and season generously with Salt and Pepper on all sides. Place in the oven and roast for 1 hour, 30 minutes
- Once the internal temperature of the Lamb reaches 140 degrees, remove from the heat and set aside to rest. Retain the juices in the pan
- While the Lamb is resting, turn the oven temperature up to 400 F / 200 C and, in a separate baking pan, add the Fries. Cook the Fries for 15 β 20 minutes until crispy and golden, flipping once
- Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce by combining Greek Yoghurt, Juice of 1 Lemon, Lemon Zest, Garlic, and Β½ tsp. of Salt into a small bowl. Mix to combine well and refrigerate until ready to serve
- To create the Tomato, and Mint Salad, combine Tomatoes, Mint, Juice of 1 Lemon, ΒΌ cup of the Pickled Onions, and 1 tsp. of Salt in a bowl. Mix well to combine and refrigerate for 20 minutes before serving
- Once the Lamb has rested and cooled, slice it into bite sized pieces. Discard any excess fat and gristle (typical of a Lamb Shoulder). Heat a large Frying Pan over medium / high heat and add the Lamb, along with all the Lamb pan juices
- Cook for 1-2 minute maximum. The goal is to re-heat the lamb and coat it generously with the delicious Pan Juices. Pour the Lamb and Juice into a large serving bowl
- Assemble the table to make the Greek Lamb Wraps with Lamb, Tomato and Mint Salad, Shredded Lettuce, Pickled Onions, Tzatziki Sauce, and Fries

To make your perfect Greek Lamb Wrap
- Place a large piece of Pita Bread and add all your desired fillings into the middle of the top two thirds of the wrap. Be careful not to overload the wrap! You want enough space at the bottom and sides to easily fold over
- Fold the bottom third of the Pita over the filling. Then fold the two sides in to form the wrap. Eat immediately!
