Weekly Meal Plan October 22, 20230 (0)
The Weekly Meal Plan for October 22 has some Southern flavor to it! As the weather is getting a little cooler outside in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re dialing up the comfort food here at Dinnertime Somewhere
The Epic Cook Up for the week are these amazing Pork spareribs inspired by Kansas style BBQ ribs. They’re cooked low and slow in the Oven so prepare to fill your house with unbelievably tasty smells all day. The ribs pack a punch, particularly with the addition of our Kansas Style BBQ sauce which is rich and a little bit spicy!
There will be plenty of leftovers from these delicious Ribs so we’ve come up with a fun use for them with our play on a classic BEC sandwich, however using that delicious Pork meat and BBQ sauce
Healthy dish will be our fresh Green Apple Slaw which is so vibrant with flavor and has a brilliant acidic kick with the addition of Apple Cider Vinegar
Finally, who doesn’t love a good Ribeye steak? Our preparation for the Classic Dish of the week is a Reverse Sear Ribeye steak. A unique preparation which will guarantee you a perfectly cooked steak

Epic Cook Up – Pork Ribs Low and Slow
These BBQ Pork ribs are inspired by our trips to the South and lean into the Kansas style rib preparation. A Tomato based Sparerib cooked low and slow and finished with some deliciously sweet and spicy Kansas Style BBQ Sauce
Epic Cook Up – Spicy BBQ Sauce Kansas Style
This Sauce follows a very classic approach to the Kansas Style BBQ Sauce recipe. Expect those lovely, sweet ingredients like Brown Sugar and Molasses to shine in this sauce, with some added heat brought in from Cayenne Pepper and Chili Powder
Healthy Meal – Green Apple Slaw
In perfect contrast to the rich and sweet decadence of the Epic Cook Up, our Green Apple Slaw brings all the fresh, acidic notes from Green Apple to cut through the sweetness of the Ribs perfectly. Make enough of this to have as its own salad later in the week too
Classic Dish – Reverse Seared Ribeye Steak
Reverse searing a Steak involves roasting it in the oven first to completely cook it, then finishing on the pan. It’s a great technique that delivers perfectly cooked Steaks every time. Get yourself a lovely cut of Ribeye and have fun with this recipe
Lunching on Leftovers – Pork Egg and Cheese Sandwich
You’ll be swimming in leftover Pork Ribs this week, so we’ve got a fun play on the classic Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwich using that lovely Pork. We’ve always been fans of adding BBQ sauce to a BEC, and this recipe is no different. You’ll love it!
