It’s the last day of 2023 so Happy New Year everyone! Thank you all for checking out our food blog, we are so appreciative that you’ve spent some time with us in our fun cooking adventures. We are looking forward to an amazing 2024 with loads of delicious dishes coming your way. So, to close out 2023 The Weekly Meal Plan for December 31 features some of our favorite dishes we’ve made in recent times. These dishes are super flavorful, look beautiful, and are simple to make! So, why not give them a try?

We head to Southeast Asia to kick off the Weekly Meal Plan

We here at Dinnertimesomewhere.com absolutely love the flavors from Southeast Asia. This is a fun and healthy dish that was inspired by a visit to one of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. We’re talking about Night+Market Song in Silverlake. A raw preparation of good quality prawns (preferably Spot Prawns or Langoustines if you can get your hands on them), served with a beautiful ceviche sauce and finished with fresh Garlic and Chili. It’s spicy, but oh so flavorful!

Unfortunately for those in the Northern Hemisphere it’s likely only to be getting a little bit colder over the next few months. However, all is not grim! In fact, cold weather is fantastic for cooking! Warming, comforting dishes are on the menu, and we’ve got you covered. Our delicious Cajun Chicken Mac and Cheese is the perfect meal to warm you up. A deliciously spicy Chicken Breast soaking up all that creamy, velvety Mac and Cheese Sauce is exactly what the cold weather is asking for!

Our Classic Dish of the week takes us to an Argentinian Steakhouse with our ridiculously tasty Skirt Steak with Chimichurri Sauce. A simple marinade for the Steak brings out so much flavor and pairs beautifully with the famous Chimichurri Sauce. Our sauce packs a bit of punch care of some spicy Jalapenos. Perfect to warm you up heading into January!

There’s no better use for leftover Steak than a delicious Steak Sandwich!

Who doesn’t love a Steak Sandwich? We have a few favorites when it comes to Steak Sandwiches and couldn’t decide which one we liked best, so we created two different variations in this recipe! Steak Sandwich #1 features a beautiful, gooey Fried Egg and finished with some melty American Cheese. Sandwich #2 packs in the flavor with an abundance of Brie Cheese. Both Sandwiches are loaded with Caramelized Onions and finished with a delicious sauce we know you’ll love

Full list of Ingredients

  • 2 Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 2 lbs. Skirt Steak
  • 4 Large Spot Prawns
  • 1 box of Cavatappi Pasta (16 oz)
  • 2 Long Sourdough Bun
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Bell Peppers, cut in half
  • ½ a Lemon
  • 2 Limes
  • 1 Shallot
  • 1 Tomato
  • 6 large Romaine Lettuce Leaves
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • 1 Garlic Bulb
  • 1 cup Fresh Parsley
  • 2 Red Onions
  • ½ cup Fresh Oregano (Alternatively 2 tsp. of Dried Oregano)
  • 1 large / 2 medium Jalapenos
  • 1 Red Chili
  • 1 tsp. Coriander Powder
  • 4 tsp. Cajun Seasoning or Cajun Spice Blend
  • 4 tbsp. White Flour
  • 4 cups Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp. Honey
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 cup Gruyere Cheese
  • 2 slices of American Cheese
  • 6 oz. Brie Cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Fish Sauce
  • 3 tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 3 tbsp. Kewpie Mayonnaise
  • 6 tbsp. Unsalted Butter
  • 5 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp. Red Wine Vinegar
  • Salt
