Provided you take good care of the ingredients as you cook them, as source some great quality produce, it will be an amazing meal<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find a large Ribeye steak that is suitable for 2 people to eat for this dish<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even the heartiest of appetites can\u2019t compete with some of those huge cuts of Ribeye Steak. Find a Steak around 24 oz. (700g) and it will be more than enough for 2 people for this dinner. Especially when you add in the delicious, but carb-heavy Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus to the mix<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is great about cooking up one large steak for dinner for two is you put all the care, love, and attention into cooking that 1 piece of meat. There\u2019s no distractions and uneven cooking times between the two steaks. Put all your love into this one, beautiful Ribeye steak and it\u2019ll guarantee to be perfect every time<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, if you are cooking for more than two people, we would encourage you to cook with two Steaks. It does require more attention, and ideally you would cook both steaks at the same time. That way, the rest at the same time and temperature, and everyone eats a lovely warm meal. This does require some serious space on the stovetop, however. A good trick is to make your Mashed Potatoes earlier, and re-heat them just before serving<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When cooking A Ribeye Steak Dinner using steak this large, they must be at room temperature to ensure an even cook throughout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Thick Steaks such as this require being cooked at room temperature. Ensuring that the steak is the same temperature throughout will guarantee that it gets cooked evenly. If you cook a steak that has come straight out of the refrigerator, the outsides will begin to cook immediately once they hit the pan, however the insides will take forever to warm up. Especially large cuts that are on the bone such as the Ribeye. If you have a meat thermometer (which we highly encourage all home cooks to have in their kitchen) you can test the temperature before cooking. Sometimes even keeping that steak out of the fridge for 1 hour won\u2019t be enough. So, to be safe, before you cook the Steak, check that the internal temperature is the same as the outside. Then you\u2019ll be good to go!<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aggressively season the Ribeye before cooking to extract as much flavor as possible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t be shy about salting your Steak liberally before it goes into the pan. Steaks love salt as it extracts excess water and helps to enhance the overall flavor of the meat. A good technique is to liberally season all sides of the steak, then leave it for about 10 minutes or so<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, right before it\u2019s about to go in the pan, give it another seasoning. That initial seasoning will have seeped into the Steak, which means more flavor overall!<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the steak is done and ready to be served, slice the steak up then season it with a bit of flaky finishing salt on the plate. This ensures that the inside of the Steak is also well seasoned too. The flaky salt gives the steak a lovely texture too and looks pretty on the plate!<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Baste the beautiful Ribeye Steak in Butter, Garlic, and Herbs for a beautiful flavor and finish<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Halfway through cooking the Steak, melt a load of butter in the pan with some Garlic, Thyme, and Rosemary. The Garlic and Herbs flavor the butter, which you then liberally spoon over the top of the steak while it\u2019s cooking \u2013 a technique known as basting<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a really easy technique to do and trust us \u2013 it adds so much beautiful flavor to the Steak. Not only that, but the butter also adds a beautiful caramelization to the crust of the steak that you simply can\u2019t get by just pan frying it<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Never shy away from Butter when it comes to making great Mashed Potatoes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The French got this one right. If you\u2019ve ever been to a French restaurant you know exactly what I\u2019m talking about. The secret to their amazing mashed potatoes is their \u2018liberal\u2019 use of Butter. I say \u2018liberal\u2019 because that is really an understatement. Their Mashed Potatoes are literally swimming in it!<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Butter, and lots of it is why great Mashed Potatoes taste as good as they do. A good gauge for how much Butter to actually put into your Mash is: for every Potato, use 1 stick of butter<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, if you are being a little bit more health conscious we 100% urge you to not use this much butter. You can still have delicious, velvety, beautiful Potatoes with way less butter. It just won\u2019t taste as luxurious. However, for a mid-week meal it\u2019s totally fine to cut back on the butter. The trick is to not over cook it. A couple of minutes in the frying pan on a high heat is all it needs to cook. You want it to still be lovely and crispy when you bite into it, but of course, cooked! Given you\u2019ll need to rest the steak for 10 minutes before serving gives you the perfect time slot to cook the Asparagus<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A great technique to use when cooking the Asparagus for this Ribeye Steak Dinner is to use the same pan that the Steak was just cooked in. The Pan will be filled with that delicious buttery, garlicky, herby sauce that the Asparagus will just drink up<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep the pan on medium, throw the Asparagus in there with a bunch of salt, then finish with a squeeze of Lemon Juice. Vegetable or Canola Oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Begin by removing the Ribeye Steak from the refrigerator and bringing it up to room temperature. Depending on the size of the steak this could take as long as 2 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before you are ready to cook the steak, cut the Potatoes into 5-6 pieces each then place them in a saucepan filled with room temperature water. Add 1 tbsp. of Salt, cover, and turn the heat onto high Boil for 10 minutes until the Potatoes are tender<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Season the Steak with a liberal amount of Salt (2 tbsp. or so), ensuring all sides are covered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat a large frying pan or Cast-Iron pan over high heat, with 1 tbsp. of Vegetable \/ Canola Oil. Once smoking hot, carefully place the Ribeye onto the middle of the pan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seer for 3 minutes on high, then flip the Steak over and reduce the heat to medium. Add 1 stick of Butter along with the Garlic, Rosemary, and Thyme. When resting the internal temperature will increase to a perfect medium rare<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Drain the now cooked Potatoes and place them back in the pan they were cooked in. Add 2 tsp. of Salt, and 4 Sticks of Butter to the Pan. Mash well with a Potato Masher until a smooth consistency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat the pan you cooked the steak in to a medium heat, keeping all the reserve butter and juices from the Steak. Once hot, add the Asparagus and cook for 2 minutes, turning once. Finish with a pinch of Salt and the Lemon Juice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slice the Steak into beautiful pieces and plate along with the Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes.
