That first bite into a Gingerbread cookie immediately fills your taste buds with those big, familiar, and wonderful flavors. This recipe does not disappoint in the flavor department<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beautiful combination of flavors in our cookies comes from the inclusion of Ginger (naturally), All-Spice, Cinnamon, Cloves, Vanilla, Molasses, and Brown Sugar. This combination of big flavors brings so much spice and sweetness to the dish. No matter what time of year your making cookies, a bite of these will instantly transport you to the holiday season!<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Stand Mixer is preferred to make this dish, but it\u2019s not necessary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re pretty lazy bakers here at Dinnertime Somewhere. Not that we don\u2019t love baking delicious food and treat. We just can\u2019t be bothered spending all that time and energy kneading dough properly by hand. So, we made the investment in a Stand Mixer, and we haven\u2019t looked back since<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can complete the dough for our Easy Gingerbread cookies in around 3 minutes using a Stand Mixer. Just throw the ingredients into the bowl and let the mixer do all the hard work<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a Stand Mixer do not worry at all. You can still make this recipe! You\u2019ll just need to roll those sleeves up and knead by hand. It will probably take about twice as long, which isn\u2019t too much time when you think about it<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of how you knead the dough, it is important that you get the right texture and consistency before it is wrapped up and refrigerated. You want to produce a thick, sticky dough consistency. Baking Soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tbsp. Ginger, ground<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tbsp. Cinnamon, ground<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tsp. All-Spice, ground<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tsp. Cloves, ground<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 Egg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp. Vanilla Extract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>200g Molasses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>150g Brown Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>150g Unsalted Butter (room temperature)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: Cake Decorations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tsp. Salt<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Equipment needed: Stand Mixer with the paddle attachment<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add the Butter to the Stand Mixer bowl and beat on medium for 1 \u2013 2 minutes until creamy, then add the Brown Sugar and Molasses. Beat on medium until combine (another minute or so)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the Egg and Vanilla and beat on high for 2 minutes, scraping the mixture from the sides of the bowl when needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add all remaining ingredients to the bowl and beat on low speed until combined until the dough is sticky and thick, about 2 \u2013 3 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the dough from the mixer, divide it in half and wrap both into cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. This step is essentially, because if your dough is not chilled prior to cooking it won\u2019t hold its shape in the oven<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When it&#8217;s time to bake<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with baking paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll the dough out until it is approximately \u00bc inch in thickness. Then using your cookie cutters, cut the cookies into shapes. Re-roll your dough scraps to cut out more cookies until you\u2019re out of dough<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place on the baking tray approximately 1 inch apart then bake for 9 \u2013 10 minutes until cooked (for soft gingerbread). Cook for an additional 2 minutes if you want hard Gingerbread Cookies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allow to cool for 5 minutes then, if you are making multiple batches, move the cooked Cookies to an Oven Rack<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once cooled you can decorate your Cookies however you like using Cake Decorations. Otherwise, just dive into them as is!<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There you have it, our Delicious and Easy Gingerbread Cookies that we just know you&#8217;re going to love. The dough can last for up to 3 days in the refrigerator before baking, so you have plenty of time to make a few batches.
