The Mustard interacts very well with the Creamy Mushroom sauce, very likely because the sauce contains Dijon Mustard itself! The best Mustard \u2013 we highly recommend Maille Mustard from France. You can make the bread from scratch, however if you\u2019re looking to save a bit of time buying some beautiful fresh bread from the bakery or supermarket is totally fine. The Toast do need to be quite flat however, so a flatbread or dense Pita Bread does work well for this recipe<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"wpzoom-block-details-173611435606519\" class=\"wp-block-wpzoom-recipe-card-block-details col-4 \">\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"details-title\">Recipe Details<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"details-items\"><div class=\"detail-item detail-item-0\"><span class=\"detail-item-icon oldicon oldicon-food\"><\/span><span class=\"detail-item-label\">Servings<\/span><p class=\"detail-item-value\">2 &#8211; 4 people<\/p><\/div><div class=\"detail-item detail-item-1\"><span class=\"detail-item-icon oldicon oldicon-room-service\"><\/span><span class=\"detail-item-label\">Prep time<\/span><p class=\"detail-item-value\">25 minute<\/p><\/div><div class=\"detail-item detail-item-2\"><span class=\"detail-item-icon oldicon oldicon-cook\"><\/span><span class=\"detail-item-label\">Cooking time<\/span><p class=\"detail-item-value\">10 minutes<\/p><\/div><div class=\"detail-item detail-item-3\"><span class=\"detail-item-icon dashicons dashicons-clock\"><\/span><span class=\"detail-item-label\">Total time<\/span><p class=\"detail-item-value\">35 minutes<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"jump-here\">Creamy Mushroom Toast Recipe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 Cup of Mushroom Stock <a href=\"https:\/\/dinnertimesomewhere.com\/index.php\/dinner\/stock-recipes\/simple-mushroom-stock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see recipe)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd Cup Rehydrated Mushrooms reserved from the Stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7 oz. (200 ml) Heavy Cream<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup White \/ Button Mushrooms, sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 large Flatbreads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Garlic Cloves, finely diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tbsp. Dijon Mustard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt and Pepper<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Melt half the Butter into a saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Once Melted, add the White \/ Button Mushrooms, season with Salt, and cook for approximately 5 minutes until the juices have released and are beginning to evaporate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the Garlic and Rehydrated Mushrooms and continue to cook for a further 2 \u2013 3 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the Mushroom Stock, Heavy Cream and remaining Butter then bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium \/ low so the sauce can reduce and thicken<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After about 10 \u2013 15 minutes the Sauce should be of a consistency that can easily coat the back of a spoon. At this point, add the Dijon Mustard, stir then turn off the heat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let the Mushrooms sit for a few minutes and cool, which will thicken the sauce. The sauce needs to be quite thick so it won\u2019t drip once applied to the toast. If it needs further reducing, just put it back onto low heat until it\u2019s at your desired consistency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slice your Flatbread into even rectangles then toast until slightly crispy. You can either use a toaster, broiler or in a frying pan. For this recipe we used a frying pan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add a generous amount of Creamy Mushrooms evenly to your toasts, then finish with your desired toppings. We\u2019ve used three variations which taste beautiful: Goats Cheese &amp; Chives, Pickled Onions, and Wholegrain Mustard.
